We got back in the car and made it to the PCC about 3 minutes after they opened for the day. We picked up our tickets at Will Call and headed out to meet our tour guide. Her name was Jo-ei and she was from the Philippines. We were in Jo-ei's "family" all right? Everything she said she would put all right family? at the end of the sentence. Cute at first but it got on your last nerve when you are drenched and walking around in a monsoon for 5 hours! We had one stretch of sunshine for a couple hours but we were drowned rats by the time we arrived back in Honolulu at 10 PM last night and it was still raining here when we got back! The highlights were the canoe show with the dancers from each country which was beautiful and the sun was out then. The dinner with the roast pork was delicious and by the time we ate we were really hungry and very wet. The final show of the night was called HA Breath of Life. It was really a beautiful show complete with the fire dancers and torches. The rain followed us back to Honolulu and we were so exhausted from walking around and being wet, none of us said much when we got to the room except "good night Jo-ei family!
Ok, if you want to check out pictures that we are posting as it happens, go to Debbie's Instagram account at DCHawaii. The sun is out temporarily so we are preparing to go to breakfast then head out to Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor and maybe Pali if it doesn't pour all day today. More tomorrow.
Seems like tropical rain is usually intense but short-lived. You got more than your fair share today!
