We drove to the North Shore today as Debbie was very anxious to show me what as she calls it "real waves" look like. We came back not knowing as it looked like Aruba with barely a little wave to be seen. We went to Waimea Bay and then the Pipeline and nothing. I tried hard to get excited and sing Surfin USA but when there were no surfers or waves for them to surf, it was hard to muster. We also stopped by Pearl Harbor on the way up but I couldn't see the Memorial from where we were. We will do that Thursday. We also stopped by Ko'Olina to see the Marriott Resort there for future reference and this is also where the new Disney resort is located. We also went to the Dole Plantation. We drove practically the entire island yesterday. Today we go to the Polynesisian Culture Center for the day. The jet lag has caught up with us and we are very slow to start today.

Aloha Oe
We arrived safely albeit tired. Yesterday was our first full day of touring. We visited a lei stand and were shown how they are made. We got flowers for our hair.. Debbie brought us leis when she arrived from the airport on Sunday. They smell so good!

Kay and I got an email from Celebrity Cruises last night that said there would be delayed boarding on our cruise Thursday because they have sick people on there now and need to sanitize the ship before we board..oh joy! More tomorrow.

Yay Finally a Hawaii update. I was beginning to think the sharks had gotten you. Very nice pictures. Same thing happened to us when we were in Hawaii on my R&R no waves at the Bonzai Pipeline or at Wiamea Bay. We also went to that Polynesian Cultural Center. Get ready to be continually washing your hands when you get on that ship. Great Tripp update today. He was lying next to his cousin and he turned his head to look at her and after 3 tries he moved his hand to touch hers. Have a great time!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow Dave..that is awesome about Tripp!! We are off to th PCC now so later. Thanks for reading.
DeleteYay - I've been waiting for your trip almost as impatiently as Dave. Sounds like you got a lot of site seeing in yesterday, and I always appreciate the photos. But no food photos?
