Major Eruption!!

The last two sea days have been interesting to say the least.  Yesterday we had latte’s from the coffee bar that doesn’t serve coffee then we met Kay for lunch in the dining room.  Again we are amazed that the waiters ignore our request for drinks and Kay winds up going to the casino bar a deck away to get our soda’s.  Then not one waiter offered to give us glasses for the soda’s she got.  We were in awe however as I spotted something that hadn’t been seen since we boarded the ship…salt and pepper shakers were on the tables again.  Wow, I took a photo and everyone stared at them as though it was something foreign.  Add more magma to the fire.  After that we went to the Hot Glass Show at the Lawn Club and after watching for a while, we played boccie ball then Debbie had an appointment with the Captain’s Club Manager to discuss our “issues”.  He didn’t show up and the girl told Debbie he was the wrong person to complain to anyway that she needed the Guest Relations Manager.  She got an appointment with him at 5:15 PM.  We went for gelato and then went to get ready for dinner.  I met Kay at the Molecular Bar while Debbie went to her meeting.  She joined us at dinner.  Kay and I had a great time at this new bar but Debbie didn’t like the martini’s there.  She said the guy who was the manager was the same one we saw in the martini bar earlier in the cruise with his boyfriend.  She said he was condescending at first but did listen to everything as she had it all typed up.  We finished dinner and went back to the Molecular Bar and they fixed us a dessert martini that was called “indulgence” and it was really good.  We tried one more and Debbie didn’t like hers so we headed to the casino.  We both did ok then decided to come back as another sea day came to an end.

We have been gradually changing the time by an hour and the last time was last night.  Debbie and I both woke up at 9 this morning which considering the time change was not bad.  We called Kay and met her on Lido for breakfast and lo and behold, everything is back to normal this morning…on the 9th day of the cruise.  Debbie is very organized and had it all typed up by each day that these things happened when she spoke with the manager.  Initially she said he wanted to blame it on the CDC but we had things before Kay did and vice versa so that just didn’t fly.  Anyway, we went to go play croquet but they had golf on the lawn so we did that instead.  It wasn’t easy since the grass has holes in it and it’s not like a green.  After that we went to a watch sale that Debbie wanted to look at.  Kay was a bit under the weather and came back to the cabin to read and write her blog and Debbie and I played in the casino.  Both of us did well.  We came back to the cabin to find a message from the manager Debbie spoke with yesterday and they are going to give us a cruise credit for a future cruise.  We were all excited about it when we met for martini’s before dinner then we went to dinner and the Maitre’d had seated two couples at our table!  Debbie was livid and went flying out the door.  Now this was the same guy that ignored us the first night we were there and kept seating people in line behind us.  Our waiter, table mates and others all wondered what was happening.  While Debbie was looking for the Guest Services Manager the Maitre’d came over to Kay and I with a bottle of champagne and Kay told him we weren’t interested since we had the premium beverage package and I looked at him and said it was totally unacceptable.  He left and Debbie came back and said the GSM was in disbelief of her story.  It is never ending with this cruise.  Too bad as the ship truly is beautiful and has a lot of really nice things but not this cruise for us for sure.  We have already gotten our disembarkation package so tomorrow is packing day and filling out customs and immigration forms.  Still more to catch you up on but I will do it when we get to San Diego.

This is the lobby and grand staircase...

It is interesting that all elevators on this ship are glass and also have a glass floor at the back.  This has freaked many people out who refuse to stand on the glass floor.

  2. Just getting caught up again. When I saw the headline Major Eruption I thought it was going to be another volcano story but know it was Moreno this horrible ship. If I ever mention that I'm gong to take a Celebrity cruise, shoot me before I do so. Well I hope the rest of your trip is great. We have seen singers the last two nights so tonight we rest!!
